Beverly Louise Forbes was born April 20, 1933 in Rutland, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Marie Phylinda (Swanson) and Casper Norman Syverson. She moved with her family at an early age to Havana, North Dakota where she graduated from high school as the Valedictorian of the class of 1951.

Shortly after graduation from high school, Bev was married to Corwin Eugene ìCorkyî Forbes at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Havana, North Dakota on July 22, 1951. The couple made their initial home in Webster, South Dakota they have also resided in Austin, Minnesota, Rochester, New York, Minneapolis, Minnesota and for a short time in New Orleans, Louisiana.

They then moved to Tulsa in 1961, then later to Douglas, Arizona before returning to Oklahoma in 1998. At that time Bev and Corky moved to Cleveland. In February of 2003, they returned to Tulsa where they have continued to live.

Bev was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to providing the best home possible for her family. She loved to spend time with her family taking care of all their needs and especially enjoyed cooking and gardening. She spent considerable time reading and studying the bible and praying. She worked for many years as a dietary manager. Her favorite quote to those around her was, ìThis too shall pass!î

Bev passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Cleveland Area Hospital at the age of seventy-four years, five months and twenty-one days. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Norman Syverson and a sister, Adeline Marie Brecker.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Corky of the home; two sons, Richard Eugene Forbes and his wife Lori of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Timothy Allan Forbes and his wife, Cyndi of Lees Summit, Missouri; two daughters, Jacqueline Louise Caldwell and her husband Rodney of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Catherine Marie Mathewson and her husband, Darrell of Hereford, Arizona; eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, DuWayne Ole Syverson of Bismarck, North Dakota and Colin Norman Syverson of Chattaroy, Washington.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Larry Elich officiating.
