Funeral services for Betty Lou Bray will be held Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 10:00 am in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain John Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at 3:00 pm under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.

Betty was born September 14, 1927 in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma to George E. and Sarah Elizabeth (Moore) Wheeler. As a young girl Betty grew up on a farm outside of Arkansas City, Kansas. She always had hear stories of her Aunt Minnie who lived in Fairview, Oklahoma. So Betty began walking to her auntís home and was caught in a terrible winter storm. She was soon rescued by a man who took her on to Fairview. She later met her future husband Jack Berry at a local cafÈ who took her to her Aunt Minnieís home.

Betty and Jack were later united in marriage in March of 1946. Then after their marriage they continued to make Fairview their home. In 1950, Betty and Jack moved to Maramec and soon to California. In 1962, they moved to Sunray in the Panhandle of Texas. In 1964, Betty moved to Edmond where she began working for the University of Central Oklahoma in the cafeteria. On April 9, 1966 she was united in marriage to Luther Harold Bray in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Betty and Harold enjoyed traveling and she really enjoyed listening to Harold sing and play his guitar with his band. They would often take excursions to Grand Lake for camping. Betty and Harold have continued to reside at their current residence since 1969. While living in Edmond Betty was also a partner in a janitorial service with her daughter Norma. She would often baby sit for local families.

Mrs. Bray enjoyed the holiday seasons especially getting the family together and cooking. Betty also cherished the time spent with her family that she loved so dearly.

Mrs. Betty Bray passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007, in Mannford, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years 6 months and 11 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons Johnny Lee and Jackie Lee Berry, one grandson, John Wayne Stafford, two brothers Marion and Charles Wheeler, one sister Florence Cox, and one great grandson Stormy John Stafford.

Survived by her husband, Harold Bray, of the home; three children, Norma Stewart and husband J.G. of Mannford, Oklahoma; Lynda Stafford and husband Jerry of Terlton, Oklahoma; Donna Farley and husband Steve of Guthrie, Oklahoma; two brothers, Roy Wheeler of Colcord, Oklahoma; Sherwood Butch Farris of Arkansas City, Kansas; one sister, Edith Comedy of Arkansas City, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Terry, Richard, Tonya, Chris, Shelley, Brett, Chris and Cameron, twelve great grandchildren, Misty, Brandy, Rachel, Jared, Heath, Heather, Hayden, Katy, Jake, Cody, Jonna, Rebekah,, one great great grandson, Adinn as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
