Belinda Lee Lasley, a life long resident of Hominy was born February 26, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Arthur Lee and Mary Patricia (Trumbly) Harlan. Bea was raised in Hominy where she attended school. Bea graduated from Hominy High School with the Class of 1977. While in high school Bea was active in sports as well as a major contributor to the high school paper and ìThe Buckî yearbook. Bea enrolled at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah following her graduation.

Bea returned to Hominy after college and worked for the Hominy News Progress for a short time. In April of 2004 Bea accepted employment with the Osage Tribe in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

Bea was instrumental in the beginning of the Osage Language Preservation Program and was very active in the tribal community. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and playing trivia. Bea was very dedicated to her sons, family and friends which where a important part of her life. She was also a member of Native American Church.

Bea passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005 in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 46 years 5 months and 13 days. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Surviving are her two sons, Michael Lynn Lasley and Branden Lee Lasley both of Hominy, Oklahoma; father Art Harlan of Hominy, Oklahoma; one brother Cory Harlan of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three sisters, Natalie Holt of Hominy, Oklahoma; Marsha Harlan of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Oney Harlan of Hominy, Oklahoma as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in the Leonard Pitts Memorial Chapel under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
