Arthur Lee Harlan, a resident of Hominy was born February 25, 1936 in Hominy, Oklahoma to the son of John David and Viola (Morgan) Harlan. Arthur was raised and received his education in Hominy where he graduated high school in 1954. After graduation Arthur began working in the oil field. He worked for several different companies and lastly for Lamamco at his retirement. He was united in marriage to Jo Emma (Sample) in Cleveland on September 14, 1944.

Arthur enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his yard. He passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years 8 months and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his father John David Harlan, mother Viola Prater; one brother Lee Harlan and daughter Belinda Lasley.

Survived by his wife, Jo of the home; children, Oney Harlan of Hominy; Marsha Harlan of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Cory Harlan of Stillwater; Oklahoma and Natalie Holt of Hominy, Oklahoma; two brothers, Pat Prater and Bob Prater both of Hominy, Oklahoma; sister, Opal Poskey of Cleveland, Oklahoma; step son, Christopher Lovell of Alabama; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter,

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 10:00 am in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Rev. David Downing officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
