Anita Gertrude Horton passed from this life on August 14, 2021, at the age of 93.

Anita was born on January 26, 1928, on a farm in rural Island, Kentucky. She was the daughter of John and Allie Prindele Ranburger. Anita attended a one room school in the Basin area. After the completion of the 8th grade Anita helped people in the area take care of their babies while they farmed. She was the nanny and housekeeper for many years in the Owensboro, Kentucky area during the week. On the weekends she would return home and help her father on the farm. On May 2, 1953, Anita was united in marriage to Omer Floyd Horton. At the age of 25, she and Omer moved to Cleveland where they started the Church of God Prophecy Bible School. After a short time in Cleveland they returned to Owensboro. In 1963, Anita and Omer returned to Oklahoma establishing their home in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She worked at the Plainsman Restaurant for over 30 years as their cook. In 1985, Anita and Omer moved to Keystone where they lived for many years before moving to Cleveland at her current home.

Anita enjoyed to crochet, sing, read and word find puzzles. She was very proud she was able to sing at church on many occasions. Thanksgiving dinners with her family and going on drives in the country with Omer was favorite memories. She was baptized at the age of eight years old and was always grateful for her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
