Alfred Weslie Hewitt, 93, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed from this life on February 22, 2022.

Weslie was born on August 30, 1928, at Jennings, Oklahoma the son of William Theodore and Mary Mae (Thompkins) Hewitt. Weslie grew up and attended school in Terlton, Oklahoma graduating with the Class of 1947. Weslie then hitchhiked to California gained employment in an Italian restaurant for a short time later returning to Oklahoma. Upon his return Weslie was united in marriage to Ellyn Joyce Hart on May 21, 1948, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Following their marriage Weslie and Ellyn established their home in Cleveland. Weslie initially worked for REA in Cleveland then later for Oribit Valve in Sand Springs before gaining a position at Braden Winch in Broken Arrow. Weslie retired from Braden Winch in 1991 after nearly 30 years.

Weslie liked calling square dances at the Longhorn in Terlton. He also liked working in his garden and mowing yards. Weslie and Ellyn always liked going to Branson and taking trips. However, he always loved being with his family and watching Sooner Football.

Survivors are his three children Gerald Hewitt and his wife Sherry of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Clinton Hewitt and his wife Shari of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Lavonne Goodell of Osage, Oklahoma, daughter in law Kimberly Hewitt of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one sister Madelyn Woodrell and her husband Darrell of Cleveland, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Micheal Goodell, Jr, Kimberly Ellyn Cox, Colton Weslie Hewitt, Chelsea Rae LeForce, Kody Vaughn Hewitt, Ashley Jo Webster; fourteen great grandchildren Briauna, Haley, Megan, Jerome, Jessika, Allyson, Emery, Owen, Hope, Lilly, Gunner, Wyatt, Camille, Sawyer and a host of other relatives and friends. Weslie was preceded in death by his loving wife Ellyn Hewitt parents William and Mary Hewitt, son Clifford Hewitt, two brothers, W.T. "Teddy" Hewitt, twin Albert Leslie Hewitt, four sisters Irma Collins, Ellen Mae Wilcox, Ruth Robinson, Peggy Pruitt and son in law Micheal Goodell.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 am, Monday, February 28, 2022, with Pastor David Head officiating services. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
