Vina Cross

Vina Cross, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years old.

Vina was born January 3, 1943, in Hominy, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of George Ellis and Rilla Marena (Roberts) Cross. Vina grew up and attended school in Hominy. At the completion of her education, Vina was united in marriage to Billy Ray Ratliff in Hominy, Oklahoma on January 18, 1958. The couple made their home in several places throughout Oklahoma as Billy Ray was following the booming oil industry. In 1980, Vina Cross moved to Wynona where she began working at the Wynona Grocery. She also worked at the school cafeteria. In 2005, Vina moved to Cleveland and began working as a clerk at Palace Drug until 2016. She also worked a short time at the Cleveland Public Schools in the cafeteria as well.

Vina loved to knit, crochet, quilt and sew and has made numerous quality show pieces in her lifetime. Vina also would go square dancing in Sand Springs on occasions. Most of all in life Vina loved spending time with her family and grandchildren who she loved dearly. Baking was also favorite thing Vina liked to do. Her family always enjoyed the hot rolls and pies she would bake.

Survivors are five sons Bill Ratliff and wife Teri Sue of Woodward, Oklahoma, Fred Ratliff and wife Brenda of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Charlie Ratliff and wife Karen of Wynona, Oklahoma, Greg Ratliff and wife Hope of Pooler, Georgia, Joe Ratliff and wife Tara of Cleveland, Oklahoma; sister Oleta Morgan and her husband Willis of Terlton, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren Tory, Shannon, Denise, Charla, Leah, C.J., Eryn, Grant, Josh, Joel, ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Vina was preceded in death by four siblings Arletta Thompson, G.E. Cross, Fred Cross, Margaret Street, one granddaughter Trudy Ratliff.
