Sherry Ann Davidson, 61, of Gladewater, Tex., died Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Tex.

Sherry was born October 17, 1955, in Butler, Ala. She was the daughter of Julian G. and Minnie Merle (Huckabee) Parten Goodman. As a young girl she grew up and attended school in Butler. Later completing her education at Choctaw County High School. Sherry then moved to Hendersonville, Tenn. where she remained until the 1990’s. During her time in Hendersonville she worked as an accountant. Sherry later moved to Osage, Okla. to help take care of her mother. In 1997, she moved to Texas where she has continued to reside. During her time in Texas she worked for the Challenge Golf Group. She initially worked as a golf course manager in Gladewater then later began working as an accountant in Marshall, Tex. where she was currently employed.

Sherry loved to be with her grandchildren and family. She also loved going on weekend trips. During the time her children were growing up Sherry liked going to the river, skiing and spending time at the lake as well as going hunting and fishing. She was a big and avid supporter of Alabama Football.

Survivors are her husband Shine Vega of the home; children Steffanie Garrison and her husband Chance of Havelock, N.C., Riley Goodman of Jacksonville, Fla., Alecia Bevins and her husband Eric of Cleveland, Okla.; four step children Destinie Vaga of Athens, Tex., Linda Vega Clark and her husband Brad of Whitehouse, Tex.; Patricia Vega Torres and her husband Felix of Huntsville, Tex.; Katy Jones and her husband David of Tyler, Tex.; three siblings Terry Parten and his wife Cindy of Saraland, Ala., Julia Tyson and her husband Ronnie of Butler, Ala., Mary Goodman of Glenpool, Okla.; eight grandchildren Caleb, Blake, Austin, Abigail, Ryker, Orion, Lena, Kylie; nine step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Goodman, Minnie Goodman; father Julian Parten; husband Raymond Davidson, brother Mike Grady Goodman and a grandson Chance Goodman.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday June 29, 2017, at Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.
