Jack Lee Smith

Jack began working as a welder at C.E. Natco in Sand Springs then later was promoted into the administration side. He worked there for over 23 years before he retired in the early in 1980’s. Jack also owned and operated the Otasco Store in Prattville for several years as well. Jack was still active and began worked as a jailer for the Tulsa County Sherriff Office where he retired in 1999.

Jack enjoyed being outdoors especially while he was hunting, fishing as well as traveling. Following his marriage to Geri they took a long trip across the Northern parts of the US down the East coast and then back to Oklahoma. The trip consisted of over 5000 miles when they finished. They also traveled to Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park and to the Western parts of the US as well. Jack and Geri enjoyed taking their camping trailer when they traveled. Jack has attended Olivet Baptist Church for the past 10 years in Sand Springs.

Survivors are his wife Geri of the home, son LTC(R). Jim and his wife Sandy Smith of Harker Heights, Texas; three grandchildren Krystal Jordan and her husband Ed, Kalen Phillips and her husband Calvin, James Russell Smith, II; four great grandchildren Aiden, Corbin, Adalyn, Lillian and many other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by his wife Virginia in 2005, three brothers Elroy Smith, Bill Smith, Gene Smith and a great granddaughter Trinity.

Funeral services 2:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Osage Cemetery in Osage, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Judes Children’s Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105; www.stjude.org or to the Shriners Hospital at 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607; www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org. Friends may share a memory with the family at the online at www.chapman-black.com.
