Glynn D. Mayson

Glynn Dowdle Mayson, resident of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at his home at the age of 82 years.
Glynn was born September 12, 1934, in Denver, Colorado. He was the son of Farra and Louise C (Dowdle) Mayson. Glynn moved with his parents at a young age to Trona, California where he received his education. Glynn later began working for Huskey Oil as a roughneck which later sold to Marathon Oil. Glynn raised his family in the Duchesne, Utah area before moving to Boulder City, Nevada. Glynn remained in Boulder City until 1984, when he moved to Oklahoma. In 1999, Glynn moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where he has continued to reside. In 2009, Glynn was united in marriage to Clara.
Glynn spent many hours wood working. He loved to fish, camp, and visit with friends. A couple of his favorite places to eat were at Olive Garden and Chili’s. Glynn enjoyed the times going to visit family and spending time with them.
Survivors are his wife Clara of the home, five children Brittany Mayson of Reno, Nevada, Brandie Grant of Park City, Utah, Bonnie Simmons of Las Vegas, Nevada, Douglas Mayson of Boulder City, Nevada, Glynn Mayson, Jr of Boulder City, Nevada; two sisters Carolyn Buttler of Brannon, Washington, Janice Scribner of Las Vegas, Nevada, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous family and friends. Glynn was preceded in death by his parents, two children Kym Simmons and a infant child as well as one brother Danny Mayson.
Funeral services will be held later with the cremated remains buried in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.
